350,000 sq ft Triangular ‘Net Zero’ Building at MediaCity

Earlier in the year Mynott Bowers were commissioned to produce the bills of quantities for the £140 million MediaCity building, which received the green light from Salford City Council in October 2022.

The scheme consists of a 350,000 sq ft commercial 10 floors of office space with shared facilities and retail units situated on the ground floor. The scheme is set to start in the summer of 2023. 

The design of the building proposal is a triangular building which is located opposite the ITV and the University of Salford media campus.

With the Net zero vision in mind and making a sustainable impact the building will be net zero in operation by using the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) Framework. In addition the placement of the balconies and façade design has been incorporated into achieving the sustainability goals and will help to minimise heat loss.

The appealing development will also benefit from an outdoor terrace overlooking a landscaped public realm, which is aimed to focus on health and wellbeing for the space used.

The development will take around two years to build.

The journey for the MediaCity has a significant opportunity for growth plans being potentially one of the UK’s largest developments and plan for further investments of £40m. To find out more about the project click here
