Building Heroes: Recruit > Reskill > Redeploy

On Friday 14th February, Mynott Bowers Managing Director Derek Mynott, attended ‘Building Heroes’ Graduation Day at the charities Watford and Wembley Academy.

Derek became a Trustee of the construction-led charity back in May last year. Building Heroes is dedicated to redeploying, and re-training service leavers, veterans, reservists and military families. Once the training is complete, the organisation then assists and supports people to find suitable employment in the construction industry.

Deputy Chief Executive of Building Heroes, Nicola Schneider said: “It was a delightful morning filled with a warm atmosphere, positive stories, and hopeful outcomes. Nicola personally thanked Derek; “It was wonderful to see you there, sharing your positivity with our graduates. Your presence added so much to the celebration.”

In 2021 Building Heroes partnered with leading developers to provide on-site academies to strengthen the organisations presence in the construction industry. This has allowed more spaces on the courses. As the academies expand, more of the military community can benefit in gaining professional construction training.
