Burley Studios – 183 Purpose-Built Student Accommodation, another step closer to completion

Looking back on previous commissions, we’re delighted to see the progress of Burley Street Studios in Leeds. Mynott Bowers provided the Bills of Quantities during the design and preconstruction stages to our client Torsion Group.

The 183 purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development stands between 6 and 8 storeys in height, and is just a short walk from the University of Leeds. Aligned with Torsion’s commitment to greener developments, Burley Studios is designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent and is on track for Fitwel 3-star certification. During the early design stage, emphasis was to focus on spaces that support residents’ physical and mental wellbeing.

The coming weeks will see the completion of roof finishes, advancing window installations, Y-wall installations, internal partitions, M&E first fix, and finalising major lift plans.

Once complete, the 183 Studios will each comprise of an Ensuite bathroom as well as a fully equipped kitchen, and in-room washer/dryer for extra convenience.

Student communal social and study areas include: Calm study room with individual desks, group study rooms for projects and presentations, a fully equipped gym, comfy lounge area with a coffee bar. In addition to this there are private dining areas to host special events.
