What Earth Day means for the Mynott Bowers Group

Earth Day falls on the 22nd of April every year. Today, Earth Day brings together more than one billion people in almost 200 countries, who are participating in a series of events worldwide.

The built environment contributes around 40% of the UK’s total carbon footprint, according to figures from the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) and the UK construction sector uses more than 400 million tons of material a year, most of which will have an adverse effect on the environment and the world around us. And this is why the construction industry is now ever more committed to becoming #NetZero.

Being part of the pre-tender stage of the construction process for our clients, we see the construction consistently evolving to a #greenerplanet

We recently prepared the Bills of Quantities for the project below, Plot A3, New Bailey, Salford, M3 5EN. This was designed in line with the UKGBC Net Zero Carbon Framework Definition and to meet UKGBC 2030 energy intensity targets. BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum, and NABERS UK targeted.

Here at Mynott Bowers #EarthDay matters to us every day because we care for the environment. That’s why we have structured our operations to minimise our impact on the planet’s carbon footprint by partnering with Zellar.

See what Zellar has to say below.

“We’re on a mission to create system-wide climate change by supporting the small and medium-sized businesses at the heart of our communities. Together we have the power to create a more sustainable future.” www.zellar.com/about

This year we will participate in a team-building corporate volunteering day with the RSPB. Which will go towards our carbon footprint tracker on Zellar.
